I had a fleeting visit to Berlin in 2016, and found a gritty earthiness about this city where people are comfortable and uninhibited. On a wall near PotsdamerPlatz underground a huge wall had been pasted with layers of posters progressively faded and shredded by the weather, then overlaid with grafitti. It had become an unintended artwork, and I brought it home as my symbol of Berlin. Using photoetching I used this image as the starting point for a set of prints inspired by the city.
